Frequently Asked Questions about Residential Tile

Will the paint ever wipe off of the tiles?

No! Never! Paints are of a specific type made to be painted onto ceramic tile and "baked" on in a kiln, at extreme tempatures. They will never wipe off.

Clean hand painted tile the same way you might clean any other kind of tile. Hot, soapy water and a non abrasive sponge work fine.

What size tile looks best?
That depends on the space. Most of my work is done on 6x6 tile, but for smaller areas, 4x4 tile works the best.

Is it better to paint on a glossy tile or a matte tile?
It really doesn't make any difference. Choose your finish according to the feel of the area that the mural will be placed.

Should I put glossy or matte fnished tile on the floor?
Matte. Glossy tile becomes more slippery when wet.

Can tile be painted on once it is already placed?
No. Not if you want it to be permanent. Ceramic tile must be baked on in a kiln and then installed properly.
